Summertime is all about exploration, fun, and adventure. And what better way to do that than by exploring in the fashion area of your life. In the Summer you can be more free and risky than you can during the school year because you're less restricted and structured and more likely to go out and have fun. When you're young you can get away with making bold moves and doing things you've never done before, so why not experience new things with your style?
Here are 3 ways to step out of your style comfort zone:
1. Try wearing more prints, patterns and graphic tees
All three of these items will definitely make you stand out in a crowd. They're colorful, eye-catching, and fun to look at! There's so much you can do with them because you really can dress all of these up or down. My personal go-to pattern is cheetah print and I love me a graphic tee.
2. Show some more skin if you want!
Go out and get some crop tops and ripped jeans and have some fun! I personally love crop tops because there's so many different styles from tube tops, to thin strapped, to high neck ones, I love them all! My favorite way to wear them is with some ripped boyfriend jeans. You're only young once, so you might as well go out and show yourself off.
3. Wear tons of eye-catching jewelry
I'm not just talking necklaces, bracelets, and earrings, I'm talking arm cuffs, anklets, and full-blown body jewelry. I absolutely love anklets because they instantly make me think of Summer. I also have a belly button ring so during summertime I like to wear long boho style rings with my crop tops. I definitely want to experiment with body jewelry this Summer because there are so many cool styles and designs and they can give you a whole new look. So let's say we get into Summer jewelry Coachella-style!
4. Wear bold sandals and shoes or anything that's really "out there."
From espadrilles to Fila's the options are endless! Testing out new sneakers can be a total game changer. This was definitely the case for me when I started wearing more streetwear styles and going for more sneakers than sandals. I saw a different side of myself. On that was more confident and free, and not meek and withdrawn.
Fashion is all about fun and adventure and discovering who you are. Wearing things that are more bold and unique that you've never thought of wearing before can totally change your style mindset. Just wait until you cross your line of style boundaries. You'll be surprised at how amazing you look and feel, and you might even see a side of you that you never even knew was there!
